Grupo Folclorico Tlatoani is based in San Diego County in the city of Oceanside, California. Tlatoani works towards educating and preserving Mexican culture among its community. Established in May 2014, Tlatoani has continued to educate audiences eveywhere about Mexican heritage. Since its first practice, Tlatoani has prospered into a respectable and recognizable group among many. It was originally initiated by five members and has grown exponentially to more than twenty members.

Tlatoani has perfomed to diverse audiences and some of their most notable performances have been locally here in San Diego. Venues such as the San Diego County Fair and Balboa Park's December Nights. Tlatoani has also entertained audiences all over California, for instance at the annual Danzantes Unidos Festival and at the Anaheim Indoor Marketplace.
